The dogs kitchen is a nutrition & natural therapy service helping pet parents to receive nutrition support for their pets following a vet diagnosis.
I can also help you navigate confusing food marketing and ingredient labelling on pet products so you are better empowered to make choices for your pet.
The dogs kitchen is a new nutrition & natural therapy service providing dietary management support for pet parents dealing with a veterinary diagnosis or health condition, always working in collaboration with your veterinary care team.
The dogs kitchen is committed to helping pet guardians navigate the often confusing world of canine nutrition, especially when their dog is living with a diagnosed health condition.
I provide nutritional advice, education, and supportive care designed to work alongside veterinary treatment plans.
I offer nutritional support that complements veterinary care, helping owners explore fresh, balanced dietary options and make informed choices, while ensuring that medical diagnosis and treatment remain fully under the care of veterinary professionals.
Tailored Recipe Formulation
I offer personalised raw and home-cooked recipe formulation using professional pet food formulation software to ensure your dog’s diet is balanced, complete and appropriate whether within a single meal or balanced across time. Every plan is designed to support your dog’s wellbeing, based on their individual needs.
Commercial Food Guidance
If you're seeking an off-the-shelf approach, I can help you assess, evaluate, and select commercial diets that are most appropriate for your dog’s specific requirements, ensuring you have confidence in your chosen feeding plan.
Natural Therapy Support (Coming Soon)
I will soon be offering applied zoopharmacognosy (botanical self-selection), providing an additional layer of emotional and physiological support, recognising the important role of self-healing behaviours in animals. Follow The dogs kitchen on social media for updates as this service becomes available.
I'm a certified canine nutritionist with over twenty years experience as a devoted dog guardian and a deep personal understanding of the challenges that come when dogs face serious health concerns.
My passion for canine nutrition was born when my dogs were diagnosed with serious health issues - kidney disease, stroke and seizures. They needed dietary support, they were my world and their health was shattering. I wanted to do everything I could to help them.
At that time the advice available was often confusing and conflicting. Many commercial pet food claims and marketing messages only added to the confusion. I did my best but I made a promise to those dogs and the ones that came after to do better.
I started my formal learning journey in canine nutrition, which has become a passion to professionally help other pet parents navigate whole food approaches to nutrition working alongside veterinary care.
For over a decade I have worked in food & beverage in the education sector, within procurement, focussing on food insights, product development and marketing. In the last five years, I managed food and drink supply chain assessment from an ethical, environmental and sustainability perspective.
I founded the dogs kitchen to help pets thrive from sound nutritional support.
I have experience supporting dogs with a variety of health needs whose veterinary diagnoses have included chronic kidney disease, pancreatitis, canine cognitive disorder, seizures, stroke, tumours, osteoarthritis, separation anxiety, food intolerances, and microbiome-related issues.
My certifications:
I'm an associate member of The Association of Pet Nutrition Consultants, which offers access to a network of specialists and resources to support this work.
