My passion for canine nutrition started when my dogs were diagnosed with clinical conditions - kidney disease, stroke and seizures. They needed dietary management, they were my world and their health was shattering. I wanted to do everything I could to help them.
The advice I was given was confusing and conflicting. Looking for help from commercial foods didn't help either, some of the claims and labelling were downright misleading. I did my best but I made a promise to those dogs and the ones that came after to do better.
I started my learning journey, which has become a passion to help other pet parents navigate whole food approaches to health where possible.
For over a decade I have worked in the food and beverage sector in a procurement function in education, working in food insights. development and marketing.
In the last five years, I managed food and drink supply chain assessment from an ethical, environmental and sustainability perspective.
I founded the dogs kitchen to help pets thrive.
I have direct experience supporting dogs with a wide range of conditions, including chronic kidney disease, pancreatitis, canine cognitive disorder, seizures, stroke, tumours, osteoarthritis, separation anxiety, food intolerances, and microbiome-related issues.
